We love collecting depression glass! The Michigan Depression Glass Society has a 40+ year history, being founded in 1972 when the first monthly meeting took place. What started as a group of a few dozen collectors grew into the hundreds as the years progressed. The first depression glass show was held at the Ypsilanti National Guard Armory on October 20 & 21, 1973 and featured special guest Gene Florence. To help newcomers familiarize themselves with the many patterns, club members created our first annual display of various patterns identifying their names and makers. Our depression glass club maintains this tradition by creating an elaborate display each year at our show.
At our June 2016 meeting, Barb Cruz presented an informative history of our club. The audio file of the presentation provides various fun, fascinating, and funny facts about our organization. (The first few minutes were cut off by mistake.)
We encourage you to attend one of our monthly meetings and shop our annual show! You can join the Michigan Depression Glass Society at either.
